Two-time Grammy Award winner Jason Isbell and his mighty band The 400 Unit have announced 2018 tour dates bringing them through the Midwest and Eastern U.S. in January and February. Their new album The Nashville Sound (Southeastern Records) was released in June and debuted at #1 on the Rock, Folk, Country and Independent charts, while reaching #4 overall on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart. The independently released album has gone on to sell over 110,000 copies and was recently nominated for the Country Music Association’s Album of the Year.
Following its release, The Nashville Sound received incredible support from the press. Feature coverage ranged from Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly and Garden & Gun to NPR Morning Edition, Huffington Post and Men’s Journal. Television performances included The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Daily Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, CBS Saturday Morning and Charlie Rose, along with feature segments on PBS Newshour and CBS This Morning. The Nashville Sound is the follow up to 2015’s critically acclaimed Something More Than Free, which won Grammy Awards for Best Americana Album and Best American Roots Song (“24 Frames”).
Jason Isbell 400 Unit features, Isbell (guitar) Derry deBorja (keyboards), Chad Gamble (drums), Jimbo Hart (bass), Amanda Shires (fiddle) and Sadler Vaden (guitar). This week, the band begins an impressive six-night run of sold out shows at Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium. Years of touring and packing venues in the U.S. and abroad has galvanized this group of fantastic musicians. They are one of strongest acts on the road today, performing some of the finest songs written over the last decade.
